FOREX.com Japan has told clients it will discontinue its MetaTrader 4 (MT4) service, with the shutdown scheduled for October 2026 or later. Once the discontinuation takes effect, clients will no longer be able to log in to MT4 or conduct any trades on the platform.
The broker attributes the decision to increasingly stringent cybersecurity standards, which it says require better protection of client assets and personal information.
MT5 positioned as the successor platform
FOREX.com Japan has been offering MetaTrader 5 (MT5) as the successor to MT4 since June 2026. The broker says MT5 delivers enhanced analytical functions and processing performance compared with MT4, along with a wider range of timeframes and advanced charting functions.
Alongside the MetaTrader platforms, FOREX.com Japan offers its own FOREX.com account. Clients using it can trade Japanese stock CFDs, stock index CFDs, and knockout options with FX as the underlying asset. The account features TradingView charts and supports AI-powered performance analysis.
