Active regulated activities: Type 1 dealing in securities and Type 4 advising on securities (held since 1 Apr 2003), plus Type 2 dealing in futures contracts, Type 5 advising on futures contracts and Type 9 asset management (all since 4 Dec 2025). Type 9 carries a condition barring discretionary management of collective investment schemes. Its Type 3 leveraged forex licence ran from 23 Dec 2011 to 21 Sep 2020, so it holds no forex licence today. Client protection: Strong: SFC conduct, capital and client-asset segregation rules apply. Hong Kong's Investor Compensation Fund covers losses from a licensed broker's default on Hong Kong exchange-traded products. Overseas markets and over-the-counter products are outside that fund. Effective: 14 Jan 2005.
