Emporium Capital Broker Overview

Emporium Capital is the retail trading brand of EMPORIUM CAPITAL K.A LIMITED, a private limited company registered in Cyprus on 3 August 2017 under number HE 372471. The brand offered contracts for difference on foreign exchange, indices, commodities and shares through MetaTrader 5, with tiered accounts starting at a 1,000 USD minimum deposit and leverage advertised up to 500:1. Its public website at emporiumcapital.com no longer serves a working site, and returns a hosting error page instead of any broker content.

Emporium Capital Regulation and License

EMPORIUM CAPITAL K.A LIMITED holds authorisation number 358/18 from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, in force since 14 May 2018 and confirmed as active. The permission is a reception and transmission of orders authorisation, covering the passing on of client orders together with agency and asset management activity in derivatives, securities and bonds. It is not an authorisation to deal on own account, which is the permission a firm needs to act as the counterparty to a client's CFD trades.

Is Emporium Capital Regulated?

Emporium Capital is not regulated to run a forex dealing business. The firm behind it holds a genuine and current Cyprus permission, but that permission is an intermediary one, so a client dealing with Emporium Capital as their trading counterparty was not covered by the licence the brand pointed to. Marketing that described the firm simply as CySEC regulated overstated what authorisation 358/18 permits.

The operating company is registered at Archbishop Makarios III, 41, TOUMAZIS MAKARIOU TOWER, Floor 1, Office 11, 1065, Nicosia, Cyprus, and is still recorded as registered on the Cyprus Registrar of Companies. Company registration is a record of corporate existence and is separate from financial regulation, so it confirms who the operator is without saying anything about permission to take client deposits.

Is Emporium Capital Safe?

Emporium Capital should not be treated as safe to fund. The public site is not operating, the only licence attached to the operator does not cover the dealing business the brand ran, and there is no published route by which an existing client could confirm the status of a balance. The company remaining on the Cyprus register does not resolve any of that.

Emporium Capital Account Types

Three tiers were offered. The Standard Account started at 1,000 USD with variable spreads from around 1.5 pips. The Premium Account started at 5,000 USD with spreads from around 0.8 pips. The VIP Account started at 10,000 USD and was promoted as zero spread, with commission applied instead. All three advertised leverage up to 500:1.

Emporium Capital Spreads, Commissions and Fees

Pricing was spread-based on the two lower tiers and commission-based on the VIP tier. No commission schedule, swap table or account fee list is published, so the real cost of trading each tier cannot be established.

Emporium Capital Trading Platforms

MetaTrader 5 was the only platform offered, with no proprietary alternative. Server names and broker-hosted downloads are not currently available.

Emporium Capital Deposits and Withdrawals

Funding was accepted by bank wire, Visa and Mastercard cards, and the Skrill, Neteller and Perfect Money wallets. No fees, minimums, maximums or withdrawal processing times are published for any of them.

Emporium Capital Pros and Cons

• The operating company is named, registered and traceable to a real Cyprus address and company number.
• The Cyprus authorisation the operator holds is real and current.
• That authorisation does not cover dealing, so it did not protect a client trading against the firm.
• The website is not operating, leaving no published contact route, terms or withdrawal procedure.
• No commission, swap or funding fee schedule is published at any tier.

Emporium Capital Review and Assessment

Emporium Capital is a traceable Cyprus company whose regulatory position was narrower than its marketing implied, and whose consumer-facing operation is no longer running. Anyone who still holds a balance should pursue it through the registered company rather than the brand, and no new money should be sent to it.
