Summary of the broker
STP Trading Broker Overview
STP Trading is an online forex and CFD broker that has been operating since 2022 and trades under the Saint Lucia company STP Trading Ltd. It is a single platform broker built around MetaTrader 5, with variable spreads averaging around 0.4 pips, leverage up to 1:300 and a per lot commission on most account tiers. Deposits start from $10, and accounts are opened and funded through a separate client portal at my.stptrading.io.
The group behind the brand is spread across several jurisdictions, and the company a client contracts with is not the company that holds either of the licences on record. That structure is the most important thing to understand before funding an account, and it is set out below.
STP Trading Regulation and License
STP Trading's regulatory footing is offshore only. Two authorisations sit within the group, and neither is held by the Saint Lucia entity that clients contract with.
- STP Global Ltd holds licence T2023280 from the Moroni International Services Authority (MISA) on the autonomous island of Mwali in the Comoros, effective 24 May 2023. MISA is a company registrar rather than a functioning financial supervisor: it operates no compensation scheme and provides no practical route to recover client funds. The licence term recorded against it ran to 24 May 2025, so its current standing is unclear.
- STP Trading (mu) Ltd holds Global Business licence GB26206302 from the Financial Services Commission, effective 25 June 2026, with its authorised activity recorded as securities trading. That is a corporate category authorisation rather than the investment dealer licence a retail forex and CFD brokerage would normally require.
STP Trading Ltd, the Saint Lucia company clients contract with, holds company registration 2023-00081. A company registration proves that a company exists. It is not financial regulation and it confers no supervision of client money.
Is STP Trading Regulated?
Not by any major onshore authority. STP Trading holds no licence from a tier one regulator such as the FCA, ASIC or CySEC, and the two authorisations within its group are both offshore: one from a Comoros company registrar, and one a global business category licence that does not cover retail forex dealing. Traders who need the protections of an onshore regime, including segregated client money rules and access to a statutory compensation scheme, will not find them here.
STP Trading Ltd and the Group Companies
Four companies appear in STP Trading's corporate record and they do different jobs. STP Trading Ltd is registered in Saint Lucia and is the contracting entity. STP Global Ltd, registered in the Comoros, holds the MISA licence. STP Trading (mu) Ltd holds the Global Business licence. STP Securities Ltd also sits within the group. The registered address on file is Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.
The practical consequence is that the licences the brand relies on are held by companies other than the one signing the client agreement, so whatever supervision those licences imply does not reach the account relationship itself.
Is STP Trading Safe?
STP Trading should be treated as a higher risk offshore broker. That rests on three things: the contracting entity holds a company registration rather than a financial licence, the group's only forex specific authorisation comes from a registrar that runs no compensation scheme and offers no fund recovery route, and both licences sit with companies other than the one clients contract with. Regulation is never proof of safety on its own, and here the regulation that does exist does not attach to the client relationship.
Set against that, the broker has been trading since 2022, publishes its account terms, costs and funding limits openly, runs a single well understood platform, and staffs support in eight languages around the clock. Anyone who proceeds should confirm which entity the account agreement names, read the withdrawal and bonus terms in full, and treat position sizing at 1:300 leverage with matching caution.
STP Trading Account Types
Four live account tiers are offered, all capped at 1:300 leverage and all running on MetaTrader 5. The Standard account has no stated minimum deposit and prices its costs through a per lot commission. Zero Prime, at a $3,000 minimum, carries the lowest commission at $3.5 per lot. Zero requires $10,000 and charges $5 per lot. The Islamic account is swap free, has no stated minimum and charges no commission, pricing its costs into the spread instead.
STP Trading Spreads, Commissions and Fees
Spreads are variable and average around 0.4 pips, with the tighter pricing reserved for the higher minimum tiers. Commission starts at $3.5 per lot on the lowest cost tier, and the swap free Islamic account is charged none at all. Deposits carry no broker commission, while withdrawal costs depend on the method used. Overnight swap charges apply on every account except the Islamic tier.
STP Trading Leverage
Maximum leverage is 1:300 and it applies across all four account tiers. There is no lower retail cap of the kind onshore regulators impose, so the full 1:300 is available and the risk of rapid loss is correspondingly higher.
STP Trading Trading Platforms
MetaTrader 5 is the only trading platform offered. It runs as a desktop application on Windows and macOS, as a mobile app on iOS and Android, and in the browser, so the platform choice is narrow but the device coverage is complete. Traders who specifically want MetaTrader 4 or cTrader will not find them here.
STP Trading Deposits and Withdrawals
Funding is available by credit and debit card, bank transfer, ACH, cryptocurrency and e-wallet. Card, crypto and e-wallet deposits start at $10 and are credited close to instantly. Bank and ACH transfers start at $50 and take one to three business days domestically, or up to five days internationally. Card and e-wallet activity is capped at $20,000 per calendar month and bank and ACH transfers at $50,000.
Two conditions are worth knowing before funding. Withdrawals must return to the same wallet or account the deposit came from, and the broker does not accept payment from third parties, so the name on the originating account has to match the trading account.
STP Trading Support
Support runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through live chat, telephone on +44 121 288 7600, WhatsApp and Telegram. General enquiries go to info@stptrading.io and complaints to complaint@stptrading.io. Eight languages are covered: English, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Persian, Kurdish, Urdu and Pashto.
STP Trading Pros and Cons
Strengths:
- Low entry cost, with deposits from $10 and no stated minimum on the Standard and Islamic tiers.
- Commission from $3.5 per lot, and a genuinely commission free swap free account.
- Broad funding choice including cryptocurrency, with published limits and processing times.
- Round the clock support in eight languages.
Limitations:
- Offshore regulation only, with no onshore licence and no compensation scheme.
- The contracting company holds a company registration, not a financial licence.
- Both group licences are held by companies other than the one clients contract with, and the forex specific one has a recorded term that has already passed.
- MetaTrader 5 is the only platform on offer.
- The lowest cost tiers require $3,000 and $10,000 to access.
STP Trading Review and Assessment
STP Trading is a low cost, MetaTrader 5 only broker with a wide funding menu and responsive multilingual support, operating on an offshore footing that carries little formal protection. The proposition is straightforward and the published terms are clear. What a prospective client accepts in exchange is the absence of onshore supervision and a corporate structure in which the licences and the client agreement sit with different companies. The most useful step before depositing is to confirm in the account agreement which entity is taking the money, and to size that first deposit as though there is no compensation scheme standing behind it, because there is not.
Regulatory Licenses
Compliance & oversight
Trading with an unregulated broker puts your deposit at risk.
No regulation
We have not confirmed any regulation for STP Trading. An unregulated broker is not supervised by a financial authority, and money you deposit is protected only by the company itself.
What this means for you
- No compensation scheme covers your funds.
- No regulator to escalate a complaint to.
- No audit of how client money is held.

How we know
- 1Standing site-wide disclaimer, repeated in the footer of every page including the Persian variant: "STP Trading does not offer its services to residents of certain jurisdictions including Canada, Japan, Sudan, North Korea, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States." Source: https://www.stptrading.io/ (and https://www.stptrading.io/fa/). Gives CA, JP, SD, KP, AE, GB, US.
- 2AML policy, section "Sanction and Blacklisted countries": "As STP Trading we do not have any business links to Afghanistan, Belarus, Russia, Iran and Iraq and the other jurisdictions that is sanctioned by FATF and HM Treasury." Source: https://www.stptrading.io/legal/aml-policy/. Gives AF, BY, RU, IR, IQ.
- 3Registration flow at https://my.stptrading.io/register/ enforces onboarding directly and outranks the published texts. Its country selector is populated from a full world list from which Turkey, the United States and the United Arab Emirates are removed before display, so TR is blocked by the form as well as AE and US. The phone-verification step then refuses to send a one-time code when the selected country is Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka or the United States, or when the number carries the Indonesian dialling prefix, which stops registration outright. Gives TR, ID, LK and corroborates IR, AF, AE, US.
- 4No whitelist recorded. The registration selector is fed a generic 240-entry world list rather than a curated set of accepted markets, so it states no positive acceptance and no country is written as explicitly whitelisted.
- 5The disclaimer's wording is open-ended ("certain jurisdictions including") and the AML policy adds "the other jurisdictions that is sanctioned by FATF and HM Treasury". Both are categories rather than named countries, so no further codes are inferred from them and nothing is recorded as likely-unconfirmed.
- 6American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are recorded as dependent territories of the named United States block; the broker's own pages do not name them individually. United Kingdom crown dependencies and overseas territories are not included, being separate jurisdictions the broker does not name.
- 7Iran: the broker publishes a full Persian-language site variant and Persian-language account pages, but no page on its own domains offers or advertises Iranian onboarding, names Iranian payment rails, or lists Iran as accepted. Its own AML policy names Iran as a jurisdiction it has no business links to, and its registration flow refuses phone verification for Iran, so IR is recorded as confirmed blocked.
- 8Six-location hunt: (1) client agreement / terms at https://www.stptrading.io/legal/site-tc/ reached, no country restriction clause. (2) Dedicated countries page: /restricted-countries/, /prohibited-countries/, /accepted-countries/ and /where-we-operate/ all 404, and the on-site search for "restricted countries" returned no such page; the FAQ hub at https://www.stptrading.io/faqs/ holds none either. (3) Registration form reached and read, as above. (4) AML policy reached and productive, as above; the funding FAQ at https://www.stptrading.io/faqs/financing/ and the introducing-broker terms at https://www.stptrading.io/introducing-broker/ were reached and carry no country restriction beyond the standing disclaimer. (5) No regulator filing was consulted: this run does not open registers. (6) Footer disclaimer reached and productive; language variants published are English, Farsi, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Pashto, Urdu and Kurdish.
Recorded by WIKILIX research, not published by the broker, and not a guarantee. A country listed nowhere above is not thereby accepted — check STP Trading's own terms before you open an account.
