Summary of the broker
Alaric Securities Broker Overview
Alaric Securities is the trading brand of Alaric Securities OOD, a Bulgarian investment intermediary with its registered office and principal place of business at 20 Todor Alexandrov Blvd, 1303 Sofia. The company is recorded on the Bulgarian Commercial Register under number 201482151, where its first entry dates from March 2011. Unlike most brokers carrying a forex listing, Alaric Securities is not a retail contracts-for-difference shop: it is a broker-dealer routing orders in US stocks, ETFs and options, with European and Japanese equities alongside, through its own Hammer platform family and through Sterling desktop software.
Alaric Securities Regulation and License
Alaric Securities OOD states on its own regulation page and in the disclaimer at the foot of every page that it is authorised and regulated by the Financial Supervision Commission of Bulgaria under firm reference number RG-03-236-1, and that the authorisation is passported into 26 further EU and EEA states including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland. The licence covers financial derivatives trading, securities trading and bonds trading. A separate company, Alaric Securities (UK) Ltd, is named on the same pages as authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 783168.
Is Alaric Securities Regulated?
Yes, on the basis of a licence held by a named EU investment firm rather than an offshore registration. WIKILIX confirmed Alaric Securities OOD as an active company on the Bulgarian Commercial Register, at the same Sofia address the licence is issued to, and the licence details are consistent across the broker's own site and its licence documentation. WIKILIX did not open the Financial Supervision Commission's own register during this research, so a prospective client who wants the authorisation confirmed at source should check it there before funding an account.
Alaric Securities OOD and Alaric Securities (UK) Ltd
Two companies carry the Alaric name and they are not interchangeable. Alaric Securities OOD owns and operates alaricsecurities.com and is the entity a client of the main site contracts with. Alaric Securities (UK) Ltd is a related company registered in England and Wales under number 10204731, with a registered office at One Fleet Place, London EC4M 7WS. That company is active on the UK register and was incorporated on 28 May 2016 under the name First London Brokers Ltd, which it carried until June 2024. It operates its own site and is a separate contracting party.
Alaric Securities License RG-03-236-1
Licence RG-03-236-1 is issued to Alaric Securities OOD in Bulgaria and is shown as being in force. Its recorded scope is financial derivatives trading, securities trading and bonds trading, and the licensed institution websites are given as www.alaricsecurities.com and www.alaric.bg. As a Bulgarian investment intermediary the firm falls under MiFID conduct rules, and the site states that client funds are held in segregated accounts and are covered by the Bulgarian Investor Compensation Fund up to EUR 20,000.
Is Alaric Securities Safe?
The structural indicators are stronger than they are for most brokers with a forex listing, but regulation on its own is not safety. In favour: a real, traceable operating company with a fifteen year record on its home register, a licence issued in an EU member state with a statutory compensation scheme behind it, an ordinary segregated-funds arrangement, and a published fee schedule detailed enough to price before depositing. Against: this is a leveraged execution business aimed at active and professional traders, intraday margin runs as high as 40:1 on the largest accounts, and the compensation ceiling of EUR 20,000 is well below the balances the Pro tier is designed for.
Alaric Securities Account Types
Accounts are opened as individual or corporate. Within that, the site offers a cash account for cash transactions only, a margin account, and a portfolio margin account. Margin accounts are graded by account equity: Starter from $500 to $999, Active from $1,000 to $99,999, and Pro from $100,000. The stated minimum for a margin account is $1,000 on Hammer Pro and $2,000 on the Sterling and Lightspeed platforms. All trading accounts are denominated in USD; EUR can be deposited but is converted.
Alaric Securities Spreads, Commissions and Fees
US stocks, ETFs and options trade commission free on Hammer Lite Plus. Clients on the Active Trader schedule pay per share and per contract instead, starting at $0.0035 per share and $0.60 per options contract and falling to $0.0010 per share and $0.25 per contract at the highest monthly volumes. European and Japanese stocks and ETFs are charged at 0.045% of trade value. Call-in and margin-call trades cost $30 per ticket. Platform access is charged separately: Hammer Lite is free, Hammer Lite Plus is $14.95 a month, Hammer Pro starts at $29.95 a month, and each Sterling platform is $175 a month. The site states there are no per-trade minimums, no inactivity fees and no account-opening minimum deposit.
Alaric Securities Leverage
Margin depends on account equity. Standard buying power runs 3:1 intraday and 1:1 overnight at Starter, 6:1 and 2:1 at Active, and 9:1 and 3:1 at Pro. On review, Active accounts can reach 12:1 intraday and Pro accounts 40:1 intraday with 10:1 overnight.
Alaric Securities Trading Platforms
There is no MetaTrader here. Alaric Securities runs its own Hammer family: Hammer Lite for desktop, web and mobile, Hammer Lite Plus with scanners and hotkeys, and Hammer Pro with depth of market and chart trading. It also resells Sterling Trader Pro and Sterling LST for the desktop, and publishes a WebSocket API for clients building their own front end. A 30 day demo with $100,000 in virtual funds is offered.
Alaric Securities Deposits and Withdrawals
Funding is by bank wire, SEPA transfer or credit and debit card; cryptocurrency is not accepted and only EUR and USD are taken. USD wire deposits are free up to $5,000 and cost $29 above that, and clear in one to three business days; card deposits clear in up to five minutes. Withdrawals carry 0.15% of the amount by bank transfer, with a $30 minimum and a $150 cap, or a flat $10 on Hammer Lite, and EUR 3.50 by SEPA up to EUR 25,000. There is no minimum withdrawal. Alaric processes a withdrawal within one business day and the receiving bank may take one to three more. Third-party deposits are refused and money can only be sent to a bank account in the client's own name.
Alaric Securities Support
Support is advertised as available 24/5 by telephone on +359 243 981 61, by email at support@alaricsecurities.com, and through a dedicated help centre at support.alaricsecurities.com. An FAQ hub is published at alaricsecurities.com/answers.
Alaric Securities Pros and Cons
- Regulated by an EU authority through a named and registry-confirmed operating company, with a statutory compensation scheme up to EUR 20,000.
- A fifteen year record on its home company register, which is unusually long for a broker at this size.
- Detailed and specific published pricing, so costs can be worked out before an account is funded.
- Direct market access execution with tiered volume pricing that genuinely rewards active traders.
- Platform access is a real recurring cost: the professional tiers run from $14.95 to $175 a month.
- No forex or CFD offering, no MetaTrader and no swap-free account, so this is not a substitute for a retail FX broker.
- The EUR 20,000 compensation ceiling is small relative to the $100,000 equity the top margin tier assumes.
Alaric Securities Review and Assessment
Alaric Securities is an equities and options execution broker for active and professional traders, operated by an EU-licensed Bulgarian investment firm with a verifiable corporate record and unusually transparent pricing. The most important thing to settle before funding an account is whether the product actually matches what you want to trade: the offering is US and European cash equities, ETFs and options on proprietary and Sterling platforms, with monthly platform fees and equity-graded margin, not leveraged currency trading.

How we know
- 1Whitelist taken from the broker's own site-wide footer disclaimer and its regulation page (https://alaricsecurities.com/regulation/), which name the 27 EU and EEA jurisdictions in which Alaric Securities OOD states it is authorised and regulated to provide services: Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
- 2Terms and Conditions (https://alaricsecurities.com/terms-conditions/): reached and read in full; it names the operating entity and the authorised jurisdictions but publishes no restricted, prohibited or excluded country clause.
- 3Dedicated countries page: no /restricted-countries, /prohibited-countries or /accepted-countries path is published or linked; the FAQ hub (https://alaricsecurities.com/answers/) was searched across its Getting Started and Regulation categories and holds no restriction list.
- 4Signup form (https://alaric-pro.alaricsecurities.net/authentication/sign-up/individual): reached; the residence selector is headed 'Select your country of residence from the list of supported ones' but offers an effectively complete world list of about 227 entries, including jurisdictions under comprehensive international sanctions. It is therefore a generic country list rather than an enforced onboarding policy, and no code was taken from it into any blocked list.
- 5Funding and AML material (https://alaricsecurities.com/answers/?include_category=funding-deposits-withdrawals and https://alaricsecurities.com/legal-and-regulatory-information/): reached; both hold funding rules, including a bar on third-party deposits, but neither names a restricted jurisdiction.
- 6Footer risk disclaimer and site language variants: reached on every page of the site; the disclaimer names only the authorised jurisdictions above and no excluded market. The broker also publishes a separate UK-facing site for its related UK company, which is outside this record.
- 7No jurisdiction was found that the broker's own text names as one it refuses, so no code was written to blockedConfirmed, blockedLikelyUnconfirmed or blockedDependentTerritories.
